Appreciation

There are a lot of things in life that frustrate us. Many things that we sit there and complain about. Every now and then, though, it's good to take a step back and look at how good we have it compared to others. It's so easy to notice the bad, we don't take enough time to appreciate the small things in life. Like what? Let's start by going way back:

* Electricity!
* Air Conditioners (thank u thank u thank u)
* Cars
* Internet!! (how did we survive w/out it?)
* Cable (GO ITALY!)
* Airplanes
* Advancements made in the field of medicine

Too general? Ok, how about others who:

* Don't have enough money to know where they'll get their next meal from?
* Have abusive parents/spouses (girl raped and impregnated by her father, wife used as an ashtray for her husband, etc)
* Have lost loved ones or have loved ones who are really ill
* Have no family
* Have no home

Al7amd-l'Allah for everything we have. Thank God for our family, our friends, our health, the home we live in, and the food on our table.

Focus!

The past few weeks have witnessed quite a bit of drama on the friendship front. I just honestly don't understand why females over analyze, take things personally, and then get upset/refuse to communicate. Seriously, take a chill pill, relax, stop thinking that everything is a personal attack, and just move on.

The good news is, I haven't allowed that drama to get to me; I've tried to pretty much ignore it and ride the wave. The bad news is, these World Cup games are stressing me out! Who has time for real life drama when the acting is performed so obviously on the field! :)

No more penalty shots please! My nerves can't handle it!

Who's Lost?

Anyone else annoyed at the way Season 2 ended? Gotta give it to the writers, they must be stoned when they come up with this stuff?! While I thought the beginning of the season was slow, the last 5 episodes REALLY made up for it! (October 4th seems so far away to wait for Season 3!!)

World Cup Fever

I've got the bug, and can't seem to shake it off!!!! Why is it that the GOOD games are always the ones that start at 10 pm? Don't they know I've got work the next morning?

I've been going to work, looking like a zombie, for the past week! I "wake up", get ready while my eyes are still sealed shut, and somehow manage to make it to the office. Not sure if people are ever gonna get tired of telling me "Your eyes are red!"

Yet, with all my whining, I have to admit that I love it! Tonight, Netherlands & Argentia!! It better be a nail biter!!

Click This!

"We just clicked!!" "There was so much chemistry between us!" "I didn't like her/him at all, not sure why though.. it's not like they've done anything to me!"

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. How you meet someone and you automatically feel like you've known them forever. You feel very comfortable around them, you open up to them.. Other times, you just see someone and for some reason, you feel like you can't stand their guts. What's even more amusing than that, is how kids develop personalities at such a young age! Being stubborn, copping at attitude, the whole 9 yards! They actually challenge their parents and try to outwit them!

Not sure if anyone can offer a 'scientific explanation' for this, but all I know is, next time someone accuses me of being stubborn/ hard headed/ etc, I'll just say 'I WAS BORN THIS WAY!' and hey, if they dont feel like they 'click' with me, then they can click off! :)

Missing Pieces

It's amazing how you never really realize how much you miss someone, until they come back!

Welcome home, bro!! (you too cuz!)

Friendly Fire

Lately I've noticed a lot of drama between friends. Friend 'A' gets upset at friend 'B', doesn't communicate with 'B' and just walks away ignoring them. Where in reality, 'A' has completely misunderstood the situation and taken everything out of context!!

So here's my question for you: what will it take for u to walk out on a friend, not look back, and not even allow them an opportunity to explain things (assuming u have been really good friends for years)?

5-Minute Rule

There are certain things that happen every now and then that make me thank God I'm still single!

One of my pet peeves is someone who attacks me with their stories/questions the second I walk into the room. I have this problem at work. The minute I walk around the corner and approach my office, certain people immediately start asking questions. I'm still carrying my purse, haven't reached my desk yet, haven't drank my tea yet, don't talk to me!

I just found out recently that this extends to the house as well. Last night I walked in, totally exhausted. All I wanted to do was go to my room and just relax. Instead, I got caught by a family member who talked endlessly. By the time I made it upstairs, I got intercepted by another family member with more stories. While I love them, and would love to hear their stories, there are times where you just need a couple minutes to breathe before your brain and ears can function. Not a lot of time, just enough time to get to my room, get into my home attire, get comfortable and then they can talk as much as they want!

Will people please follow the "5-minute rule"?
