Choose

I took a few days off work and went to Kuwait. It was nice to get out of the normal routine, go shopping, and eat a lot of things that I probably shouldn't have eaten! :)

That said, time for a light post. Which would you choose:

* Superman or Spiderman?
* Morning or a night person?
* Las Vegas or the Maldives?
* Firefox or IE?
* Chocolate or fruit cake?
* LOST or 24?

Changing Lives

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in life, it’s that nothing stays the same. The more we try to hold on to things, the higher the odds that they’ll slip away. Life is constantly moving, and the only constant is change.

As humans, it’s not always easy to accept that. We get used to things quickly, which makes it hard to let go. When we lose things/people, suddenly we feel this void where they used to be.

The quicker we understand and accept that this is part of life, the easier things will get for us. It’s not about being a pessimist. It’s more of being a realist.

Amnesia

Does anyone else suffer from temporary (or permanent) memory loss?!

I can't seem to be able to keep a thought in my mind for long. Yesterday I had an idea of a post I wanted to write about. Today, for the life of me, I can't remember what the topic was!

What am I supposed to do? It just seems to be getting worse! It's gotten to a point where I have to set reminders on my phone just to remember to make a call the next day or get something done.

Appreciation

There are a lot of things in life that frustrate us. Many things that we sit there and complain about. Every now and then, though, it's good to take a step back and look at how good we have it compared to others. It's so easy to notice the bad, we don't take enough time to appreciate the small things in life. Like what? Let's start by going way back:

* Electricity!
* Air Conditioners (thank u thank u thank u)
* Cars
* Internet!! (how did we survive w/out it?)
* Cable (GO ITALY!)
* Airplanes
* Advancements made in the field of medicine

Too general? Ok, how about others who:

* Don't have enough money to know where they'll get their next meal from?
* Have abusive parents/spouses (girl raped and impregnated by her father, wife used as an ashtray for her husband, etc)
* Have lost loved ones or have loved ones who are really ill
* Have no family
* Have no home

Al7amd-l'Allah for everything we have. Thank God for our family, our friends, our health, the home we live in, and the food on our table.

Focus!

The past few weeks have witnessed quite a bit of drama on the friendship front. I just honestly don't understand why females over analyze, take things personally, and then get upset/refuse to communicate. Seriously, take a chill pill, relax, stop thinking that everything is a personal attack, and just move on.

The good news is, I haven't allowed that drama to get to me; I've tried to pretty much ignore it and ride the wave. The bad news is, these World Cup games are stressing me out! Who has time for real life drama when the acting is performed so obviously on the field! :)

No more penalty shots please! My nerves can't handle it!
