The Moment

For those of you who read and/or commented on my last post, the answer is "The Moment". That one moment in time that we don't notice and don't pay enough attention to. The moment that we don't appreciate nor realize its true value.

We waste time like it's endless. We watch tv, chat online, check email, blog, nap, and the list goes on and on. When's the last time you turned off the tv, put down the newspaper, or walked away from your computer to just read some Quran or pray rak3atain for God?

How many times have you picked up the phone and talked endlessly with friends? How many times have you sat there and sms'ed back and forth? How many movies have you waited on and ran to see? How many moments did you waste instead of going to see a family member or sit and talk to/with your parents/siblings?

There are so many things we could use our time for better than what we're doing. When people tell you "Live each day as if it was your last", I tell you, "Live each moment as if it's your last.. cuz it just might be!"

I understand what you try to convey to us MSB. But we only humans. We try our best for family connections (sealet elra7em). But we also want to live.
But we will try.

Thank you.

Your absolutely right msb. Thanks for reminding us. Sometime, when you lose track of time, you kind of take this life for granted.

pinkbling: i totally agree.. that's why a reminder every now and then is a good thing. human nature tends to revert back to its original state of equilibrium. it's our equilibrium that needs adjusting in order for this to become a natural state as opposed to a forced situation.

tantalize: it's amazing how people react when u turn off ur mobile phone! it's as if the sky is falling. people flip out, not realizing that a few years back, this technology played almost a non-existant role in our lives!!

the more we become dependent on it, the more we miss out on!

i'm so very sorry for ur loss.. 3atham Allah ajrek. Allah yer7amha.

death is quite a reality check that gets handed out every now and then. it's even more shocking when it comes unexpected.

this, in my opinion, re-emphasizes the fact that we're mortal and our day will come.. so we better utilize our time in a manner that'll be beneficial in the end.

Pray for 5altek, Allah yer7amha, and know that every thing u do in her name, will help her out.

BDR: exactly my point! we can easily afford to completely waste an hour towards absolutely nothing.. but net.thaygal ineh we utilize that hour for something useful! People wouldn't go to an exam completely unprepared unless they're willing to accept failure as an option.. people wouldn't go to a meeting at work unprepared, unless they're willing to accept the possibility of losing their job...

but when it comes to life and the biggest test of all, not many prepare for the day of judgement. o methl ma gelt, el kalam lee gabl ma eykoon 7ag ay a7ad thany!!
