It's All About Preparation

You want to buy a new car, you save up. You want to buy that new dress, you save up. You want to go on that long awaited vacation... you save up!

You want that promotion you've had your eye on, you work really hard for it. You want to graduate with a high GPA, you study your brains out. You want that business of your's to bring in high profit... so you work really hard to earn it!

You want to have fun, to hang out with your friends, to go to a movie... so you clear your schedule and enjoy yourself!

What about judgement day? What have you done to prepare for that?

I don't know how much you get paid M, but most people end up taking loan after loan if they want to get a car, go on a cruise, get hitched, etc.

As for studying, I never did much of it, but I always ended up getting at least a 3.8 average. I guess I'm smart?

izzi: thanks.. reminders r always needed i guess..

anonymous: so i guess ur saying that ur not the type to prepare for anything?

Somethings are better left unprepared for ... If you prepare for something and do it in fear of what's to come, then that's actually pretty bad ... I don't think Judgement day needs preparation. The hearts of those whom Judgement day means something to them shall do things from their heart ...

Thanks for the reminder. We are so busy with our daily lives, we forget about the 'end'. Nice post.

Ok a good point here... But we can do all of these things together with having some moments for god ;)

fractal: i disagree with u. i think some things DO require preparation. i'm not necessarily talking about big things, it could be the little things that make a difference. i do agree that things should come from the heart though.

heba: welcome to my blog, and ur welcome =) this was exactly my point. it doesn't even need to be a reminder to others. it's a reminder to me first and foremost!

zizo: abul-zooz! =) yes, of course. i never meant it should be one or the other. i was just trying to point out that sometimes e7na wayed enkoon lahyeen fee 7ayatna.. and we plan for our future.. in 5 yrs i want to have accomplished xyz so i'm going to do this and that today in order to achieve it. bs mo el kil meftekr fil akhra. we live sometimes as if we'll live on Earth forever and forget that sometimes the small things, like praying for e.g., make a huge difference.

all: i am not criticizing anyone nor trying to force my beliefs on others. this is what i believe in. this is what i would like to remind myself of. "Inna El Thekra Tanfa3 El Mo2mneen"

=)

Rememberance is good. If we're talking about Islam then what we do everyday is a preperation for it, regardless. We work, to earn money, to get married, to spend on our family, to raise them well, to help them grow and become good ppl. We eat, to stay health, to have energy to be faithful. Isn't it true? Yet, we sometimes forget the real end.. it is good to be reminded :)
